You mean like http://www.landtransport.govt.nz/vehicl ... -test.html ??

Although most people don't bother getting tested until they have to.

Meh, not worth my $30 when it cost $17 to make it quiet. Having a loud car drove me nuts anyway.

Not saying i dont believe you, just interested to know if that is confirmed fact before i change my opinion :D

I know for a fact there is no ticket quota. however there is an expectation for cops to do their job. E.g. if you were a cop patrolling and you had 7 car crashes in your area due to speed.. but no tickets from that time period.. then you are obviously slack. its their job. Shit is always happening. So tickets should reflect that

Last time i heard. you couldn't have it certed on your LVVTA cert plate, but there is a bunch of testers who can test the noise, and if its quiet enough they will add a plate onto your exhaust, and draw a diagram of your system for the computer system.

Heres a list of the testers and the testing procedures.

actual quotes from the email:

"You do need to write tickets!," Robinson said in the email.

"You are in a marked police car, wearing a police uniform ... Would you let a thief run away? An assault happen and not assist? A person report abuse and not take action? I mean we educate about that as well as still enforce it."

does it need to smack you in the face before you believe it? :?

yeah of course I believe everything I see in the media, and also on tv, and the tech section..... should I not?

Did you read it?

It said its a guideline.

Its to stop cops ignoring people speeding/not stoping etc because they don't want to write tickets/do all the paperwork that goes along with the tickets. Whats wrong with that?

Stop near a stop sign and watch. You could give 20 tickets a hour, piss easy. (3 mins to write each one).

Do that 4 times a year and its done. Its the same as the highway guys that are meant to get one per hour.

Its going to have ZERO effect on how likely a cop is to give you a ticket. The numbers arn't big enough for that.

And just to completly turn aroud, even if that 80 tickets IS a quota... Who the $&#$% cares? You speed, you don't stop etc, then you get a ticket. Its easy. You dirve legally and you don't get a ticket. Fcuking simple isnt it?

Why the fcuking public cares if the cops have to give 10 or 1000 tickets confuses the $&#$% out of me. Legal = no ticket. Not hard. Dipsh1ts.

i think the issue lies with the potential for a cop whos behind on quota to issue a ticket when other wise they wouldnt.

its hard and a pita to dispute a ticket, the law is on the cops side.
and so it should be.

Wrong, it is going to affect if you get a ticket or a warning. If the cop is under pressure to deliver his quota, then you may get a ticket for something that only really warrants a warning. I personally know at least one cop who is under pressure precisely because he prefers to educate and warn rather than revenue raise

For $&#$% sake people. Im not wrong. The "quotas" these people are talking about are only a few tickets a fcuking day. Its not going to matter.

If this country had some balls they would force EVERY COP TO GIVE OUT EVERY TICKET THEY CAN. Then people might wake up.
