castrol edge 25w-50

could someone tell me if this is suitable for my mr2 3sgte ?

as i put some in and then i turned it on and 5 mins later it started to blow white smoke out.

shouldnt turbo cars use thicker oil ?

its the first gen sw20 ?

is there a problem why its blowing out white smoke ?

a 15/40 would probly be more suitable.

i put a 25/something in my old mitsi before i sold it to shut the lifters up

Its definately not suitable, I think the factory recommendation is a 10w40. 15w50 if its higher k's. 25w50 is suitable for dirty old bogan V8's with massive ring clearances

its only done 80000. will there be any problems ?

yea id agree that oil is a bit too thick for turbo application as a thicker oil doesnt like small clearances and turbos / small bearings. a 10w40 semi syn or a 10w30 penzoil is good stuff. 15w40 is cheaper but id recommend a good 10w40 for all turbo cars.

With too thick an oil you can risk popping seals out. Drain it and replace it with Magnatec or something similar.
