Help with turbo timer

hi,

can someone tell me what colour is the 12volt batt wire from the ignition key switch.

Real specific there buddy.
Get a multimeter or a testlight and find an ignition only 12V+
usually the Cig lighter is the easiest for me.

trying to wire up my turbo timer.

as for using a multimeter. i touch the wire with red lead and the black lead onto the ground chassis ?

hmm, not really a job you wanna attempt if your not real flash with electricals... turbo timers can cause some weird gremlins when wired up incorrectly...

Got to learn how to do these things somehow, giving it a go is the best way to learn :)

set the multimeter to the correct voltage range (20V) and yep black to earth.

ive done everything but i just cant seem to find the 12volt wire ?

are you taking it from directly behind the key switch? should not take long to find (re:20seconds) if so.
Make sure key out/off put black wire onto something like the steering colum mount and touch the solder blobs on the ignition one at a time.
Going by above I asssume you are using a multimeter, but if not a test light will do the exact same job in this example.
Pretty hard to mess up this stage...its the next part of installing you have to be more careful with.

hi guys,

thanks for all your advice. it is now working :) but

i have encounter another problem.

when i take my key out the timer counts down and the dash lights all go off even my handbrake.

and now when i put down the handbrake.

the timer still keeps running.

can someone please help a brother out :)

youve fiddled with the handbrake sensor.. sounds like your handbrake power has been switched to accessories

why do u need a turbo timer?if the car needed one it would come factory.i havent ever used one and i have never had a problem.waste of petrol i think.

i think all the ignition barrel should have some writing on it like IGN, ACC1, ACC2 where the wire connect. mine has.
