Honda engines are awesome.

to quote myself

myself wrote:actually i think honda make some great cars, particularly in type R guise, and their NA engines have always been a step ahead of toyotas imo.

as for the rest, i wasnt trying to present it as my own feeling on the matter - as stated i actually think honda make some great cars, and i dont hate them (or their owners) at all. i might laugh at the aforementioned riced out drone-mobiles sometimes, the same way you laugh at a kid thats wearing undies on his head (or his hat with the peak off on some angle, tbh) but it doesnt mean i hate them.

the fact is though, some people DO hate hondas (and maybe their owners) i was just trying to explain what i see as one of the reasons. you cant really hate hondas just for being hondas, because theres nothing wrong with them.

i think tis a pretty good idea for a conversion really. the type r engines are really nice, i can't think of an engine of the same capacity id rather have, and the next closest would also be a honda engine. toyota dont really have anything to speak of with similar power output or reliability.

if it was all done professionally, id own it.

Why not use the 1800cc VVTi engine out of the MR-S?

No Type R but would be keeping it toyota.

Because the on out of the mr-s is slower than the standard blacktop

The 2zz-ge from the celica or corolla would be pretty nippy though.

and the fact that MRS owners in japan have done the same conversion for track racing , there is a kit you can buy to fit a 2.2 vtec into the MRS, 2zz just dont cut it to be honest,

I'm guessing you don't go to many private track days at pukekoe.

i dont mind the stickers its the seeferooo drivers who have cut springs, big exhaust tip, "drift damage" patched up with primer, screams down the road when you trying to sleep, and wine the drivers seat as low a possible to look "gansta" but the car is auto and slow as f*%k. but it still drifts hard au

back on topic: id totally rock a f20c if they didnt go for 10k or if b18c spin the right way,

My old licence plate on the Skyline was BYA208 which was affectionality nick-named "Buy a 20B" ;) There were many a drunken conversation when the idea of a 20B with a huge turbo lurking on the side of it came up haha...

Because they are the down powered motors I thought???
the celica TS ones (later model i.e. 2001) are 189 bhp at 7800rpm....bit better than the BT's.
I have the ST and this Celica and I live the VVTI kicking in at just ove 6000! :P

still the honda type R's are nothing like Toyota's motors since they are way diff....

it's a pritty mean car, but I wouldn't own it. since I like living my life! :D
At lest it's not a Honda

Ive seen this do a 1.10 around pukekohe park raceway.

Honda in a toyota...hmm yes interesting. but i think its pretty cool, just the same as S2000 engines in ae86s, no one complains about them.

I think thats a really cool conversion, as i love the ITR and the AE111!

That would be an expensive conversion in the UK, but if the engines are easy to get hold of out there, then fair play!

I personally wouldnt put a F20 motor in an 86, but thats only because i couldnt afford to do it! My mates doing that conversion and i cant wait to have a go!

265bhp F20 in an 86! MENTAL!

Like I've said before. (possibly in this thread?)

I think that the late model 3S engines are great.... Just not in any of the cars that they come in standard. :P

I sure as hell had a heap of fun in my beams MR2 when it was running.
It didnt have a particularly good set of gear ratios or final drive ratio though, which is half the equation really. Type R is much better in that regard.
