Highest Revving Street Engine

I didn't want to post this in the tech area because it's not really technical..

What is the highest revving street engine you know of.. I have an idea for a project dependant on if i can find the car i want.

The other part of the idea is to get an engine that rev's like anything and i'd like idea's on engines that rev like crazy (while still developing power) - doesnt matter what the make of the (prefer Toyota) engine is..?

For example, my friends 808 wagon has a 12A Bridgeport that easily rev's to 11,000 rpm (and hasnt twisted a seal).

What engines and why? All and any input is fantastic

Pretty sure there are a couple of Honda guys with ~10,000rpm engines, there is a GTR running around I have been given the impression can spin to 10,000rpm, and a KP Starlet running around in a rallyish car with a Hayabusa motor that can rev to god knows what.

Not really sure why you'd want to, to be honest. Best bet if you want to get anywhere near there is get a Honda F20C from an S2000 which will rev to near 9500rpm in completely stock form and not seem stupid doing so.

You'd squeeze similar power from a Hayabusa, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be as tractable as a stocker F20C.

IMO the F20C is the ultimate factory-available NA 4cyl.

yeah the old late eighties, early nineties saw plenty of 250 4 cylinder bikes revving to excess of 18000rpm...

hybausa motor with turbo strapped to the side. guy in america is getting 750hp out of it, but that would be stupidly expensive. small turbo setup would work

The highest powered NA motor bike motors will fall fairly short of an F20C in terms of power and WAYYYY short in terms of power delivery. F20C sounds quite motorbikish up in the revs as well if you have decent extractors, exhaust and intake setup.

Technically I guess it would be the Chrysler Turbine Car. They turned at 45,700 rpm. There were 55 built in 1963 to test the viablility of turbine powered automobiles. I'm not sure if you'd consider that a production car or not. As far as more conventional production cars, the Mazda RX-8 with the Wankel Rotary has a 9,000 rpm redline. The 00-03 Honda S-2000 with the VTEC engine also had a 9,000 rpm redline, so I guess it's a tie. Though I'd imagine the Wankel has more rpm potential.

not for long if it hasn't had the valvetrain beefed up a bit

SIKBUZ - what are you planning on doing, or is it top secret at the moment?

Not really.. The car weighs about 600kg.. Is rear wheel drive and has plenty of room for a decent engine.. I would rather have an N/A engine due to having a rotary turbo and want something that will give good power and scream at you when you're foot is on the floor..

Originally thought a 12A because they like to rev, or a B16A because i had a fun little civic that revved to 9500 but wanted to get some more input. Other than that a black top 20V having driven only one 20V levin which was very disappointing (hence why i bought the SiR). Am buying a house soon so it will be a long term project but hopefully one that turns heads

hmm in my opinion then get something honda, they do NA pretty damn well from factory. if you can spare the coin then an F20C is probably a great choice since it's already in RWD format, otherwise a B16Aor B18C would be fun, just a bit of custom work to get it to mount north-south, also the issue of getting a rwd box to mate up.

of course, rotarys are good too, but they've been done to death, it would be cool to see something a little different out there.
