Starting, idling, and then dying when throttle is applied can be a bunch of things. Do you have a spare ignitor unit you can swap onto it? My old Corolla GT did that when the ignitor went bung.

Has it got decent spark or just a weak looking spark? What are the plugs looking like?

Check that there is an earth in place from the AFM - I think it's white with a black trace. Also, when you hold the AFM flap open with the key on, the fuel pump should run - if it doesn't you've got a wiring problem with the circuit open relay and fuel pump.
See ya

According to the site I just found, code 12 is RPM or Knock Sensor.

12 RPM Signal
Diagnosis
* No "NE" or "G" signal to ECU within 2 seconds after engine has been cranked.
Trouble Area
* Distributor, or CPS, circuit
* Distributor or CPS
* Starter signal circuit
* ECU

so should i just run new wires from the dizzy to the ecu?
i mean i could have damaged some wires taking the loom in and out, i did this after it first started, just trying to think what could have changed

when i had issues with my dizzy i was able to check the continuity of the wires back to the ecu , and look for the small voltage to see if it was triggering correctly.
