The 777 didn't use anything close to full thrust on the run I watched. Bah!

That was a no contest.Black Beauty blew that Boeing 777 into the weeds.

I think the Euro-fighter racing the Ferrari F1 was a little better.

I think the 777 possibly had to control its thrust use, because the aim was to have it on the ground rather than have it take off really quickly since it was light on fuel & had no freight or passengers
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

If you want a real comparison of accelleration, lets see which can get to 900kph the first, (cruising speed) from a 500kph rolling start....

Oh wait, the car cant even go 500kph? lame. :P

Just seen the numbers and the 777 was using minimum thrust to keep it on the ground. Full thrust and it would have been at 1000 ft by the time the car crossed the line...

Wasn't that one where the eurofighter had to climb to 1 mile and back to ~ground level to pass over the line, and the Veyron had to go 1 mile on land and back?

fairly close from memory, should be showing when the new season starts soon ish.

The real question is, what would happen if the 777 was on a treadmill going backward at the same speed the wheels were going forward....

It would sit there, looking like a 777 sitting on a treadmill that had obviously been produced specifically for it, without any actual purpose.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
