who cares mate, thats a circuit car where handling is everything. its not gonna make sweet f all difference anyway. another thing is he'd want more torque so he doesnt' need to rev the tits off it like a crap rotary.

nothing wrong with trying something new. instead of jumping on the bandwagon to get a rotor au

Top Secret's is based on the JGTC car. The real JGTC car is far more hard out with a lot more carbon fiber in the engine bay.

Pretty sure the car you're thinking of raced in GT300, the swap to 3SG wasn't for weight purposes at all. The GT500 class I think used the 2JZ.

True that, The 3s was only put in so they could enter the GT300 class.

niteb's 86 has a beams 3SGE in it. goes hard by all accounts.

i thought the GT500 supras were using V8's.

the bodykit / decals etc is about raising the profile of the sport and the driver. if you really think an 8k car can foot it at the top levels of drifting in this country, (just import a fuct batty, chuck some knock-off adjusties and a locker in it she'll do mean skids au!) then you need to take a closer look at the cars the top drivers are pedalling.

The blue ESSO Supra uses a 1UZ.

I prefered the name JGTC, but now its called 'Super GT', because it also goes to the US, which is cool, but I still like JGTC better!

Do they broadcast it here at all? Like on Sky? Its awesome to watch.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Rally cars have to be road registered as they are required to do touring stages on public roads. Some, including myself at one stage, were forced to drive to events given lack of a suitable trailer. It severely limits the amount of spares you can carry. In the end it also limits how fast you are as you know that you cant bin it as you have yet to drive it home.
If I owned a drift car, which I never will, (although I'm keen on getting the offroader out to show them how its done) it wouldnt be a road registered car. In my opinion the only advantage in road registering it would be to take it out Friday nights to show off to the girlies... and I'm married.

the engines in the supra gt500 and gt300 have nothing in common with the 3sgte's you get in road going cars, they share nothing in common with the 3s family. not even the block or head is the same.

I preferred it when it was JTCC and there were R32's, RS500's, EF Civics, AE92 Levins and other cool machinery blatting round.

AFAIK too, GT300 class cars run NA engines... (at least, from the time the 3SGTE GT500 class Supra's were running).
