It would be interesting to see what would happen with my Lancer then, as I got a WOF for it after the accident that has written it off!!

having been involved with compliance for several years, the only piece of advice that really needs to be given is -

go and talk to the person / place who will be doing the inspection. there are alot of different rules for all sorts of different cars, the best thing you can do is find out from the horses mouth which parts apply to your car - and like someone else said, they are always more than happy to give free advice.

That's weird how they've written it off for just bend bumper mounts - surely there must be chassis damage if they are writing it off. However at 370,000kms, and being post 91 they will pull you up on lots of things when being re-vinned - suspension bushes, shocks, brakes etc it just wont be worth it when you can pick up another V6 Lancer for $1500~2000.

I bought a Dereged Gtz a few months ago and it wasnt as bad s i thought it would be to get it rereged. best thing to do like said before is fix the rust that you can find or it could be an issue later. I had abit of rust damage that i had missed and the right sill was dented which all had to be repaired i didnt need to get an engineers cert for that stuff though.......the panel beaters thought otherwise. Getting it on road cost $350+gst for the warrent then $240 for the plates and 6 months rego.
