How powerful is the most powerful 4age/4agze/4agte?

Postby gasman » Wed Apr 16, 2008 12:11 am

i tried searching around but didnt find much info.

how powerful is the most powerful 4age engine in all three platforms (N/A, supercharged and turbo)

any details on parts used, the builder and pictures would also be useful.

Bob Norwoods 1500cc 20 valve would be the most powerful that I know of.

im just wondering what are the limits of the 4age engine and how much power i need to get to claim the absolute title. Managed to get 260kw on 20psi but that was with 100% injector duty cycle.

Regardless of whether it's had a stroker kit or not, the list still illustrates the costs/requirements/etc of a high hp *AGTE buildup, in more detail than any other build list I've seen.

You could build a 4AGTE with the same ingredients, you just wouldnt make as much power I guess...

Thats pretty damn good, is that still on speedtechs dyno or somewhere else?

That means I need to make 48kw more on another 3psi....hmmm me thinks not

20psi is nothing, i'm running 25psi and maybe a little more next week who knows,

as for the high hp ones, turbo wise most guys can get away with 30psi (one in aussie and one in states) on stock blocks. one in aussie runs same bottom end setup as me.

powerwise, the one in the states runs over 500rwhp, BUT, he has split the cyl walls on 3 blocks so far i beleive. which is the main problem when getting that high.

backyarder isn't quite that much power, or wasn't last time i checked, but he can run about 40psi boost with the methonol, so who knows,

what injectors you running gasman? and what base fuel pressure? if the block is build well, (not neccessarily forged pistons) you should have no trouble cranking it up to 25psi.

The whole question was what power can you get from a 4A, so what you get out of a 7A is completely irrelevant to what he is asking. Sure you can chuck the same stuff at a 4A but the power isn't going to be completely different so doesn't answer the question in any way
