im running 550's on the stock fuel pressure regulator, i have a sard one mounted up and all ready to be plumbed up but andre said it still wont be enough fuel anyway. I was going to push it to 25psi but common sense and safety stopped me on 98.

I will however push it once i save up enough for some bigger injectors and some C16.

The destroked 4age that Bob Norwood is running seems very impressive but i can find any power numbers in that article.

there is nothing wrong with 25psi on 98, as long as your tuner is not a munter (pretty sure andre ISN'T), barry tuned his on 98, thats 27psi (has gone to 30psi too) and 70kw more. just make sure you have colder plugs, recommend 8's or even 9's, and gap them right.

it's nothing to do with common sense it's very doable.

by the sounds of it you want well over 300kw somewhere, either go 800's or even 1000's if you wanna try match the power some of the guys are making around the world.

I've always thought of the 4age as one of the best "bang for buck"' engines. You can get cast turbo manifolds off ebay for $100, put a turbo on and make a fair wack of power for under $1,000

If i were to spend lots of money on a engine to make power i would start with something bigger, like a 2JZ. Unless you want to compete in some sort of CC restricted class or what not.

A F20c turbo would be the shit :D

its common sense when good quality 98 isn't available everywhere in the south island.

Managed to get 260kw on 20psi but that was with 100% injector duty cycle.

just had a look on ebay myself. Cast manifolds for like $60US, and I also found this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyota-C ... enameZWDVW

Assuming $100US for shipping to nz, thats less than $800NZ for a manifold, turbo, oil lines, gaskets and fittings. crikey.

Obviously it could be a case of get what you pay for, but still.

Ok

first person in nz, to make more than 300kw with a turbo 4age still 1600cc or less I will buy a box of beers

Chur

The levin on trade me the 355hp is at the wheels was tuned on nz efi's dyno

Oh BTW for the beer the dyno reading cannot be from tricky tune or tourque performance

there are two people i can tell you straight up,

LOTOY in a ke30? runs low 11's, massively worked head.

and Kent from speedsources cousin has 320kw at the rear wheels in a red dx wagon with gt3040, revs to 10k, and 20psi boost, he mentioned that was without the nitrous too;

both still 1600s

and gasman, you can always turn down the boost  most places close to racing in the would have some good 98 down there too. especially if you go to the effort of taking c16 down with you, but hey, each to there own, alot of people under estimate how much power can be made on 98.

Thats gotta be some good/expensive beer...

EDIT: 355hp atw is just slightly over gasman's new figure... interesting.

Beers r what ever the person choose within reason they must post dyno sheet on forum and have specs and info on car posted as well

the two main contributing factors imo. very nice numbers.

Exactly, i never saw that kit but thats definatly good.

It cant be that bad, remember you are putting it non a $100 engine anyway

pretty sure TIMID was well over 300kw, still 1600cc, more like 330kw when it was doing 10.5's.

was basically a standard bottom end with huge turbo and lots and lots of fuel.

30psi 4agte project build - http://www.garagedori.com/forum/viewtop ... f=2&t=2973

$175 cast manifolds on trademe - not sure if the guy is importing more though?
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =147348207

and the turbo package in ebay is on trademe too - no need to import it yourself unless its easy and you can save a bit of $$. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 86.htm?p=3

and the l0toy is running nos too isnt it?
there was a guy was building a ke25 drag car, his aim was 350kw atw and a 10s car...he ran out of money before he finished it though. would've been interesting to see in an 800kg car though

Gasman - 98 will be fine using 25psi, I did it safetly on mine easily with heat range 8 plugs. I was running 18 deg advance as well. Combustion chamber of the blacktop head is awesome!!
Oh wait.. what compression are u running?

Any of those 4agtes using 30psi 1600 etc, id like to see them out on a circuit and see how long they last :D.
