torque maxed out, the thing had a speed cut at 250kph so when he used a lower gear it made way to much torque, tricky reckons it would be over 400 at the wheels,

The soarer is Alex's (postfach) from here, more to come as he has a much bigger turbo and a 46mm tial from us.

should have been more though, i'm disappointed with that figure! i wouldn't have thought the difference between rolling road and hub dyno was 30kw, but it seems like i still have another 3psi available before boost cut so maybe i can squeeze a bit more out of the twins yet.

Mate thats a very impresive figure considering your setup dont be discouraged there is heaps more left in your car yet.

Ohh yes there is certainly a big difference between Hub and Rollling road the last time I was on the 2 I got 323 KW at 1.2 bar on the Hub and 280 on the Rolling Road so there is quite a big difference I reckon the Hub is more related to a flywheel figure as I no for Damn sure the factory CT 12s will not move enough air to give me 323 RWKW that would be about 350 plus KW at the flywheel nah I don't think so some how.

The rolling road vs hub thing is quite interesting, at the dyno the Toyspeed dyno day in Palmy was run on I did 262kw @ wheels and a guy from here (can't remember his name off hand) did 157kw @ wheels with his EP82. We ran on a hub dyno a few weeks later with absolutely no changes and I ran 280kw @ wheels while he ran 153kw @ wheels.

He lost 3kw going to the hub dyno and I gained 18kw, go figure :? Maybe the higher power cars extra loss is due to some tire slip?

Think i figured that out out actually Dan. About a week after that 2nd dyno I found about 3 exhaust leaks between the head and the turbo. Got a couple flanges milled and welded a crack up and I instantly gained 3mph back in my trap speeds. Will have to have another go i guess.

use one dyno so you can compare mods/gains etc, and put figures down on the track.

thats definately a possibility. wen my car was running 400kw, it f**d the tyres completely from wheel spin. had 200L ballast water and 2 mates in the boot to keep it down.

Ahhh ok that could explain that :) May indeed have to try again then, though having said that - mine has actually got some nasty leaks too - its what the mysterious squeel was on the dyno. Exhaust manifold was cracked, and has been getting worse.

I can imagine how bad that would be on a rolling road, we had enough problem trying to stop mine from wheel spinning past around 135kw. We ended up getting 2 guys to sit on the front guards in the end which seemed to work.

doesn't matter if it's rolling road, strap it down properly. kent tunes nyle buckleys corona with over 600rwkw on a rolling road. many people to the same.

most of the time if it's spinning on the dyno you can see it on the plot. it's not like you guys have sh1t tonnes of power compared some guys that do, and they never have problems.

yeah tires get warm on rolling roads, my semis got rather hot, he said if he knew they were semi's he would have taken bit longer between runs, road tires are fine
