oil catch cans?

getting one made but not sure how big i need it and what i need inlet/outlet wise, if someone could help me out with how big i need it and how many inlet/outlets breathers etc i need then that would be mint

if you want to enter events run under MSNZ permits then it needs to be at least 1 litre in capacity.

1 breather will be fine, and as many inlets as your cam covers have outlets (cant remember on 16v's).

drain bung on the base will also be useful in emptying it.

It's not always a good idea to have it drain back to the sump.
Apparently you get a bit more than just oil.

Yeah oil is cheap as chips anyway.

But the issue is 16v 4age's tend to push too much oil into the head while revving hard and it can't drain back fast enough, therefore pushes oil out the breather(s) and into the can. (this is why Toyota added an external oil drain to the smallport).

I only get that when driving around the track and always revving.

Mine threw out a heap of oil under high load/high boost above 8 grand, so i changed from na rocker covers to ze ones both with the bigger breathers with big hoses into my rangi 5 litre oil container/catch tank:), Also dont I dont run up to the full mark on the dipstick, around half seems to work well but thats up to you! All 4ages seem to do it but dont throw any oil out on the dyno. I also drilled and tapped the block for a drain from my head but im not really convinced that on its own does much, it really needs some form of baffle around it.

4age + corner speed + lots of rev's + less oil in sump = run bearing.

Normal street driving and straight line stuff is probably fine though. I usually overfill the oil a bit before going on the track just to be safe.

fair enuff, have a mate here who drifts a 86 and he had the same problem, It would only biff a certin amount of oil out so he ran it at that level and was very careful about checking it.
That is why i did say its up to said person:) But yeah it race situation it would be worse
