$40/month for the Soarer with AMI, have had a few cheaper quotes from other places but none cheap enough to make me change. They didn't care about any mods as long as they were legal and not over a set value. Then again, I'm an old bastard now, used to cost a bit more when I was under 25

Never had any problems with claims, excess refunds are quick etc etc, which for my piece of mind is worth the extra few dollars a month.

It's surprising how much some people love their insurance company when all they've done is pay them money and never had to make a claim.

Do you know if it is true about not covering over 10 year old cars though? Though if you have it, they must be ok with them.

i have always been insured with state,
never had a problem with them,
was actually paid out in full last month after my corona was written off, my brother (under 25 and not listed on my policy) was driving, he was rear ended, they agreed straight away and paid out what i had insured it full with no excess,

full cover on the corona was $330 a year, excess was $250

my fd rx7 use to be $550 a year when i was under 25 and that was for full cover, and excess of $900

John Rae Insurance Brokers

Have the KE25 & Trueno through them, did it all via the phone, not restricted in terms of modifications, Leon put me on to them and I would recommend them to anyone

Just renewed insurance for the KP through AMI, $290.00 third party, fire and theft, under 21 with $700 excess
Can't really justify paying $400+ for full cover when the market value they give is less than 2k and the excess is that high :(

$800/year. $250 excess. $15k agreed value.

Our BMW is half the premium with State with the same insured value.

Funny you mention that, I read in the paper (today or yesterday) about a guy that rear ended someone.... went to claim, it was found he had not informed them he had received a speeding fine since his renewal, so they declined his claim, had to pay for his car and the person he hit.

Worth not telling them you have fines?

thats pretty rat shit though. since they are not going to pay out, you should be entitled to get your premuims back as they have not provided a service you have obviously paid for :o
guess they get you from something in the disclaimer.

Yeah it came down to a case of it being the customers responsibility to disclaim ANYTHING that may affect the insurance companies decision to insure you or not.

If they can find a way to get out of paying they will, its their job, so don't give them an easy way out!

I have insurance through Medical Assurance Society, $600 p.a. on gtt with usual mods, $1000 excess for me, $1500 for anyone else driving. I'm 22 with few speeding infringements. They brilliant to deal with -no questions. Just replaced my 4 y.o Macbook with a brand new one when I dropped it.

My fiancee works for an insurance broker...

You will find on one of your policy documents a "Duty of Disclosure" stating that if you do not disclose everything that would likely effect the outcome of a claim that a prudent underwriter would need to know then your document becomes null and void.

Basically Tell them ASAP or they have the full right to not pay on a claim.

if you want a competitive quote for car insurance, try Bay Insurance Brokers in tauranga http://www.bayinsurance.co.nz they specialise in top quality policy coverage including glass coverage with no excess etc. My other half is the receptionist Megan.

I have my Cruiser insured, my excess is $500 (have had full for under 2 years) >$500 pa
I have my SE104 insured, the only time its not covered is when competing in speed motorsport events, but say like a rally, its covered all the time bar the actual timed competition stage. >$400 pa
Fiancee's supra insured, Her excess is $700 (only 19) >$550 pa

Sure we have a good rate and neither of us have ever had a fine/conviction but unfortunately if you have caused accidents and been fined/lost your licence its just the price you pay for at least 5 years after.

Check out their website if you want!

sorry to hijack slightly. Whats the go with State insurance. My insurance is ridiculously cheap with them. $390 for full cover on a 87 Supercharged aw11. I have spoken to them three times and three different operators stating that it is supercharged but they tell me the rate is correct. I am 22 with no fines etc.

State and i guess half the companies out there are very inconsistent with their premiums.

I can have a quote, and a mate can have the same quote and can be different by $200.

Should ring up and see what i get for a 87 SC AW11 and see what they say :)

I have a few places to call tomorrow. hmmm....

How old are you?

I've been trying quite hard to get agreed value on my car.

Would love it insured for 12k agreed value.

I dont trust market value on a modified ke30.

At the moment.. i dont even have insurance . Was quoted $300 more per year for insurance than what my evo4 costed, evo was a 2ltr turbo 4wd pushing over 200kw at the wheels with a fair wack of mods.

Toyota is only 1.6 RWD and around 130kw at the wheels... dont know why they want so much :(
