Power Steering Leaking

Postby Makaveli » Sun Nov 09, 2008 9:00 pm

As far as i know power steering pump and rack are both leaking. Do these simply get rebuild with new seals etc. or you need to buy brand new items altogether? How expensive? Anyone here works for toyota???

Thanks :P

You need to find out exactly where it is leaking as you don't want to end up on a wild goose chase, High pressure power steering hoses off the pump often leak and can be rebuilt by hydralink.
I bought a pump rebuild kit from toyota a few years back and got a power steering specialist to install it however I'm sure there are cheaper options depending on how mechanically comptetent you are.

I will try to do it myself once i get the car. Will just spray some degreaser clean it all up and monitor where its leaking from. Shouldnt be too hard, only time consuming i guess. 8O
