right well i am hearing different advice from all over the show, basically i want a manual g/box to use with a 1uz, im either using r150 or w57.

engine will be standard apart from some match porting and possibly a different intake manifold.

reasons against the w57 is it wont be strong enough for long enough

and issues with the r150 is the shear size of the damn thing.

please any advice is valued, also i need to know what model each of these g/box's can be found in.

and if anyones interested plans are to put it into a kp6# starlet

plenty of high hp 1uzs using them though, they can handle the torque.

you wouldnt get enough tyre under the rear of a starlet to do much damage to a box would you? wouldnt the torque just turn into tyre smoke?

I run a w57 in behind my 1uz, mild mods, Kane the shit out of it at drift days no issues at all.

Engines arnt hugely grunty unless you give em boost.

i'll probably look at cutting the wheel wells out bigger to fit wider tyres at a later date.

also will look at the m90 charger at some stage too.

biggest concern at the moment is getting her all mounted and running

mate the z32 300zx box is really big, and strong as!
i reckon the w58 is a good bet- it will handle all the power an atmo 1uz can muster.
