Have you guys checked reported RPM against actual. If it's dropping triggers you should note a varying RPM (when actual is stable) and it might also read low.
The LEM's were always very picky in regards to voltage. Voltage too low and they would do a reset. It's not like a computer reset either, its almost instantaneous so you only get a stutter.

Why not run a log and post it for everyone to see?
The answer is Helmholtz!

problem was that the BRAND NEW coil i brought from ripco was stuffed, so swapped the new 1 i brought for the 86 in and it worked a treat.

BUT was driving it on tues night and it crapped out again same symptoms, is there any fault with wiring that could be killing coils??

are you using distributor? check the triggers from there. i changed coil/plugs/leads/rotor+cap before i got to that point and found the problem, another dizzy sorted it straight away.
its actually pretty simple ignition wise once you break it down into bits and you know what the ECU is looking for as an input.

i'm sure link get loads of people calling them up blaming their products when a lot of the time it is unrelated faults etc.

Yeah it is odd.
I may need to explore other avenues first, just to see what the story is.
It doesn't really bother me too much though, as the car is getting a new intercooler and some other stuff cleaned up (and some other secret little plans 8) ), so will be going in for a full retune once all that's done.
Might change the fuel pump as well, seeing as it's a factory one from what I've been told.

yeah, mine ran mint at one point, not long after original tune, packed up at about 11pm, woke up at 7am to drive 6hrs home and wouldn't start, called tuner, all the dwell settings had changed, but how? who knows

and had another one, can't remember, oh, it randomly one night turned the launch control on, which i hadn't run for ages, and since i got it tuned at speedsource, how? i dont know,

link also have no idea. both times my laptop never went near it only to fault find and fix it.

hmmm, curious.
I'm going to have to look through all of the settings on the Link when I get back home. It'll get a full retune pretty soon, so fr0m there i'll just save all the settings on the laptop and it'll live in my car.
