converting to individual coils?

Postby d1 mule » Sun Nov 30, 2008 5:41 pm

im just wongering whats involved in changing from dizzy to coil over plug setup on a 4age with a link??

reason being car wasnt running, so i put a "new" dizzy in, and it ran sweet as for about 5 mins now wont run again.

or would i just be better off getting a new ignition module for the dizzy??

i want the car to be ready for drift south on the 20th dec and practise on the 16th so am getting pretty anxious :?

Probably better to fix what you have,

depending on the link version it may need to be re-configured,
you will need to run a GZE or smallport dist assy,
and will need to change wiring a bit, and then also get the coils leads and igniters etc etc.

What do you mean by done a dist? they are not the sort of thing that wear out or you can damage easily? sounds like there are other problems to me.

If you do end up changing it. Go for mitsi wasted spark coils.
Individual coil-on-plug setups often fail from the heat
