Should be a diagram on the side with S I and L,
Sensing, Ignition, and Light

1 is sensing, Batt +ve
2 is light, warning light terminal
3 is ignition, switched 12V from the ign switch to turn the alt on and off.

Not sure if you have the original plug or not, but if you do:

thick white is the Batt feed
black/yellow is your Ign feed
creamy yellow is the warning light feed

sorry to bring up an old thread but........

my colours are different. I have 1 thick cream, 1 thick cream with green stripe and a thin black with yellow strip.

Do you know what my ones are? my charge light comes on when running, not sure if it is actually charging or not though.

above link should cover it, otherwise have you got a multimeter? if so, chuck that on the batt while its running. should be around 13 - 14v if its charging. will be alot lower if its not.

are the wires all different thicknesses?
on my plug, all three were obviously different gauge wire.
PM me if you still have problems.
