maybe its just me, still a cool idea though

Does sound pricey, but I guess it depends how refined you make your product at how much R&D and testing you do. Wicked idea though, keep us posted with details.

BTW I have a Holden Premier that will be in the works soon gunna put an LS1 or LS2 into it, would love to have a procharger hanging off the side, so quick build them and test them, then make them big enough for v8's!

Nice work, how you gonna mount it? There seems a fair bit of leverage with the gear box housing length to your drive pulley?

well i geuss i had better start thinking about making some more

as far as price goes it depends on how much i can get the parts for and and how long all the machining takes it could even be as cheap as 600?

but look at it this way if you were to turbo you would need

turbo 500-800 depending on size, age, brand etc
manifold 300-500
wastegate 200-400
dump pipe 50-100
exhaust 100-300
gaskets 100

so you looking at 1250-1400 for a turbo set up

and if you go charger then you need
charger 700-1000
mounts 100
belt 40

840-1140 bit cheaper and no lag no extra heat to your oil or coolant and you have something different

however you do loose power to run it
and im not sure how much boost they would create

my one will be mounted where the window cleaning fluid bottle is (ae111)
attached to the engine mount thats there and the pulley will sit close to where the powersteering pump is (which i am going to remove) and driven by the crank pulley that drives the powersteering and ac pumps

when you say there looks like a bit of leverage coz of the length of the gear casing your right but there is a bearing right next to the pulley the gears them selves are mounted firmly in the housing so i hope there is enough support to stop the input shaft flexing

True-No-Turbo wrote:yeah would have to be a fair bit more than 200kw to break traction in 3rd, I could get my trueno to let go when cornering if i kicked the clutch in dry but theres no way itll spin through 3rd from 2nd or spin in 3rd when coming on boost.

in the wet is a differant story though

Don't forget the gear ratio differences, the gtz box's have looooooooooooong gears so would be much harder to spin 3rd vs's the close ratio and shorter gears of a b18c gbox .

Yeah thats a good point! 8)

Spoken like a true Ginge (Actually it should have been in orange writing)

Supercharger does look really cool though. I'm interested in seeing the results.
