3SGE
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Agree. 3SGE with race cams.

Don't go beams.

EDIT: Clarification: Don't go beams if you want race cams

Double edit (xsspeed edited too  ): Easier to just go for non beams if you're gonna change cams etc.

do beams

Aftermarket comp, race cams (think I have seen some advertised).

Obviously would be issues with vvti. Think Motec(?) ecus can control them?

Celica RA45 seems to have plenty of knowledge on this. And RomanV

I voted 4agze + turbo.

You already have the computer so sorted there. 4agte has been done a lot, but with good reason so i'd jump on that bandwagon and not look back

Seems many people want to see you put in the work and use a 1uz though

yeah i no the 4age is the easiest option and should be fairly reliable at my power aim of 150rwkw.

but how cool would the 1UZ be!!!

id only do the V8 if i got a motor real cheap, there was one for $600 no reserve on trade me a few days ago, shame im poor as till i sell this ae85

I'd be more worried about getting a gearbox / adaptor unless you would keep it auto

I plan to put a 1uz in my corona one day. A few weeks after I buy the winning lotto ticket that is.

^^^ haha cheers man

the ae85 i have brought has a W55 with 4age bellhousing so i could sell that and the RWD 4age etc and buy a 1UZ bell off trademe they are about $500 as are the chromoly flywheels, then the engine say $800? then loom and tuning $1000? clutch $500 ish. I can get engine mouts made fairly cheap so not worried bout them. so it snot exactly cheap but would be pretty sweet it think

the plan for the ae85 was rip the W55 and the cressida adjustable suspension out and swap it with the stuff thats in the 70 at the moment (k50 and ae86 adjustables) then sell it and witht the money i get from selling it (after paying the old boy back) fiddling with the 70s engine bay
