atf for toyota funcargo/vitz
hi...
i just bought a toyota funcargo 1.3 automatic and do a full service...
i also ask them to change the atf.....
after i go home i found they use castrol TQ Dexron III atf instead of geniune toyota one...and read from the net i can only use geniue toyota atf for my box...is that true?
if so, whats u guys recommend to do? go toyota to do complete flush? or any recommend workshop in auckland can do it with geniue atf?
or it is ok to drive like now?
thx

Castrol book lists DexIII for everything except the later model stuff which lists as TMJ I think
bit confuse now....so, the castrol tq-d3 is ok for my box?i m worry as funcargo parts is hard to find and expensive.....
(just got quoted from a wrecker $250 for a parcel tray )

so yes it does have the wrong fluid and you should take it back and get them to do it right
and hrt just corrected himself to say the same, so no its the wrong stuff in there. if the parts are that expensive id be useing toyota to do the service work.

Just never heard of toyota parts being required, only recommended. Is this just for newer models does anyone know?
not really...cos i always think that all automatic box can use d3 atf except cvt box...
so do many ppl...
other comment from my friend oversea" toyota is so reliable even u put "shit" into it...it wont break"
really feel funny about it...
i think only newer model toyota require there specific oil for there box.....but y a funcargo....it's not performance.....it just a normal car
