Hub Dynos in Auckland

I'm just trying to source out a hub dyno to re-tune my car.
I last used Mark from Tricky Tune but I heard he isnt in auckland now??

I only know of a few places that have it.
Bob Homeward (Dont think he would let me bring my own tuner to do the tuning + he is $$)
Sochi (still to ring)
Mike Healey (too $$)

Is there anyone else around who has a hub dyno and will let me bring my own tuner to tune the car. Also has to be good prices!

I heard that tricky was still about but was basically just a mobile service after he stopped operating out of On the limit, may pay to ring him still

Yea I rang him and he said he is only based in Whangarei.

He said Turbo vehicles could be another option.

Guessing your gonna take your old man to tune it??
Probably pay to have a ring & Talk to Bob/Grady & tell them who you are & what you want to do as Bob has been pretty accomodating in the past with other tuner's etc but depends on who it is. As for cost I'll leave that up to Bob/Grady to decide but you have to remember when you are on there they are not using it & making money from customer work so you end up paying the purchase/running costs of the dyno as you have to get a return on your investment

There is one or two more in Auckland but can't remember who & from memory they are basically for personal use only. That's all the dynapack's I know of off the top of my head, to the best of my knowledge no one here has got a rototest dyno but could be wrong.

didnt tsoob (nick) use a hub dyno for their dyno day? maybe get in touch with him ?

they had tricky tunes hub dyno at that dyno day. Could try apt ( auckland performance tuning ) they use a hub dyno

couldnt hurt to ask the dyno place if you can tune it yourself, NZEFI down in chch do it, and they are the biggest/most well known dyno place in town

bring the blue beast up to whangarei for a roady and tell mark to spend a day at work, if he's not working he's fishing or talking shit, he just seems to have a 2 day working week and 5 day weekend.

No my dad doesnt do this type of tuning. I will be using my dads good friend who used to work for rally art.

I'll prob give turbo vehicles and bob a call to see what their prices are like.

Way to far. + nothing against Mark at all I know he is very capable of tuning but I only like to use certain people on my car lol. Well there are only a couple guys as they are good mates with my dad so I can get the tune I want and I know they travel all around the world to tune cars with autronics :).

ezy10's was offering dyno tuning, pretty sure he's on the shore somewhere... his rate seemed reasonable, and is probably cheaper if you supply your own tuner..
it might be worth giving him a PM.

Doesnt he mean road tuning, or dyno tuning on someone elses dyno? Didnt know he owned his own dyno!

carl ruiterman has one barry, im pretty sure he will lend it to you.

We use tricky for our dyno day, im trying to do another one but he dont wanna bring the packs down from up north....

Any ideas any one?

They quoted $500 for half day.
Once the car is on the dyno I would only need it for say 30mins or so.
The tune on it now is what i've been using for 2 years but just changed a few things so only need to make some minor changes. And tuning 27psi on the road is impossible.

I will give Carl a call, see what his rates are like.

If I cant find a hub dyno for a good price i'll go back down to high velocity as i know him quite well. But its a rolling road dyno.

The hub dyno bolts onto the hubs after you have removed the wheels,
so is direct drive and there is no slip,

rolling road run on rollers so there can bee wheelspin and slip between the tyres and rollers which can cause inaccuracies and problems,
esp with cars that have a lot of power.

If the vehicle is tied down properly using the proper tie down techniques you shouldnt have a problem with wheelspin.
