4wd Carib and Corolla Feedback

hey guys/gals

Thinking of getting one of the above as a bit of a run round car but would also be using it to put the yak on the roof and down to the beach or possibly may tow a small boat if needed (only small - the Ford Territory is for the big boat).

Just after peoples opinions on these, reliability, general performance etc.

I am interested in something reasonably newish, 1996 or newer and 4wd 1600/1800 should do it. I understand the manual versions can be abit hard to find so auto is no real issue.

We had a 4wd corolla sedan as a service loan car a few years back.. it was pretty gutless. Seemed to holdup to whatever had be thrown at it :lol:

other than the usual making sure its hasnt been abused and neglected theres no real issues with them.
