Removal of AE111 Trueno Quarter Glass

Postby xsspeed » Wed Apr 15, 2009 12:21 pm

I have a guy picking this up tonight, so need to remove for car,

Is there anything I need to look out for when removing the glass, as from the looks of this diagram, there is just a clip/fastener and the glass just slots into place.

Cheers

Can't say i've taken one out, but they look to be well in there so it might be glued as well?

Should have put "buyer to remove" in the auction

They are glued in,cut them out from the inside(remove interior panels first),mouldings etc are fitted into the glass first then bonded(glued) into the window opening.

I'm guessing the car will be scrapped at some stage?

If so, use a grinder and cut around the window and hand them the window with 50mm of car frame still stuck to the window

A good sharp craft knife will cut the black sealant stuff, might take a bit, but patients may be needed.

Lol actually thought of cutting the metal around the glass, but at this stage I am trying to avoid cutting the car, incase I can sell the shell to someone

I will go the craft knife route, always have success with windscreens this way (except for new ones)

Never had much luck with the wire and cork style 'saw'
