Anyone know of good places with good prices in the auckland area???
And no i'm not going to TGA, or Herbert fabrication etc as the price is a bit too much for me.
Also i've been told alot of people use some sort of mild steel which is really soft. Anyone know the deal with this?
Cheers

I thought you were on a budget...

strx7 wrote:in a car with 30odd metres of tubing in it - full cage, the difference in weight between RollCage Tubing and Chrome Moly is approx 7kg. Chrome Moly is very finiky to work with, a couple of years ago one of the WRC cars has a major crash the the moly cage BROKE part way along the tubes.......
Mild Steel rollcage tubing (its name from steel & tube) is my preference for cages. I think NZDRA/NZHRA cages have to be chrome moly - personally i think that is a stupid rule. and I also think most NZDRA/NZHRA cages are built with VERY strange designs

I got mine done by A1 exhaust & towbars LTD on hill side road and Dave did a good job on mine.Bazda wrote:I'm after a half cage for the levin very soon.

for track days you dont even need a cage.
Bazda wrote:Might just throw the idea of the 10s cage away for now. Its too $ and I wont even be going back to the drags for ALONG time.
For now I just want a cage to make the car a bit safer on the track.
