Postby deaf_rattle » Sun May 03, 2009 9:29 pm

the ae111 (4afe) sometimes the foot pedal is abit sticky.

Mainly just the first couple of times you use it on a trip.

is there something that needs to be greased or lubed?

Lol Grease the pivot point :) up under the dash, also check your cable that runs through your engine bay see if its catching on anything, check the part where the cable meets your Throttle Body that could be dirty as hell if you havent got a clean engine bay.

check where the cable first goes into its sleeve by the throttle
mine sticks there, if you havnt driven the car in a few hours you have to push the pedal once reasonably hard to free it up.
for some reason there appears to be some black gunky crap stuck there that causes it.

Its a very common problem for sticking pedals on the 4afe. Both of the Corollas I had equipped with the 4afe had sticking pedals, symptom of a dirty throttle body.
