So you're saying you cant get good economy from an aftermarket efi system?????? I suggest you find a better tuner IF you've ever had an aftermarket efi system in your car. Because the tune is the only thing stopping you from getting good economy. to say what you said above, is a crock of sh1t!!!!!

greedy e-manage ultimate if its a road car with some mods.
standalone if your aim is all out power and economy is no issue
strx7 wrote:I prefer haltech ecus cause they are what i know. I have used them in every engine conversion i have done, I tuned the one in my 2JZ surf by driving to auckland to watch the targa, and I tuned while a friend drove. I was able to get the cruising zones spot on and could get nearly 30Mpg out of it. Get either a) what you know and can tune, or b) what your nearest workshop knows and tunes. because having someone who knows your ecu is THE most important thing

Seeing as not many people are answering your ACTUAL question -
You should find a tuner who you like or have heard good things about.
Then talk to them about your options. This is the best way to do things. They should have a large range of options for you. They can work out exactly what you need.
Personally i would Recommend Carl Ruiterman at E & H Motors in Pukekohe. He has tuned and worked on alot of high profile cars, no job too big or too small.
Hope this helps,
Mike
Karl is very good tunes my mates TRD Drift supra
also any reason you don't want to go full ecu and are looking at the MAP2
Figure out what you want out of the car
Work out a budget that you're willing to devote to it
Find a good tuner that has worked with other cars of the type with good results and talk to them about options that suit your budget and goals for the car
ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE DONE THE ABOVE will you be able to make an informed decision about what ecu to go with. After all is said and done, an ECU is nothing but a collection of circuits. Regardless of what brand/model you get they ALL do the same basic job (additional features my vary but they ALL work on the same principles) how well it does it's job is completely dependent on who gives it instructions. Find a good tuner and use the ECU that he/she has experience and good results with
Caldina3SGTE wrote:i want both economy and power as its my daily driver, i have enough for both but thats not the issue just wanna know for what the map ecu 2 cost is it the best bang for buck??
It ALL depends on your tuner. Talk to them first and THEN decide what ecu to use. The only person that can tell you what is the best "bang for buck" is your tuner. People think the ecu is the most important factor in a situation like this but it's actually the tuner that you should be focussing more attention on. Even a cheap SAFC in the right hands will give you good power and reliability at the end of the day

strx7: how did you go about tuning the ignition on the road?
