Toyota Corolla S.E 4WD 1992 4WD parts

Postby RE20 » Wed Jul 29, 2009 11:22 am

Hello,

I've got a friend looking to buy the following car: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 941041.htm

He's a little unsure if the 4wd components will be hard to find replacements for.

Is anyone familiar with this model car? Are parts (mainly transmission) readily available?

Thanks!

I think these run the part time 4wd with centre diff lock, manual ones dont come around often. strx7 would know the specifics

correct, they usually run with the centre diff open, and at the puch of a switch a vacuum engagement unit can lock the centre diff.

Parts are OK to come by, not many parts are 4wd specific - rear hubs, struts, front axles, east/west front subframe, rear subframe etc, however they share most of those 4wd components with the AE115 Carib and there is HEAPS of them around.

PS - thats a pretty reasonable price considering a tail light will only set you back $65

My AE95 was a little gutless but that was the only real complaint I had with it.
