Well i got my own rant now

Got my bill for my Swift, the premiums are ok (its about $1k if i pay by installments - its brand new, value $24k) but my theft excess is horrendous....

....$4800!!!

Apparantly its common for underwriters to put a high excess on cars like the Suzuki Swift. Its bullshit, im gunna shop around. Im sick of my broker, and sick of NAC. Been with them about 5 years and then get this.

Business Insurance for the win! It's so much cheaper than personal/private insurance.

For what exactly? I thought vehicles used as part of a business cost a lot more to insure..

I was paying $1100 a year with no claim's with CLIC for the Caldina (GTT). But now am only paying $820 before no claim's bonus. And Excess is a lot lower to.
And am paying $450 before no claim's bonus for the Hiace.

I haven't insured any other vehicles for a business so I can't comment on them being more to insure. Could be to do with how much they are used per day, and the kind of good's they carry. But the number's don't lie

Yeah just wondered as our work vehicles cost almost double I think, but do a lot of mileage. Out of interest though what company is that with as i'll mention it at work.

Yeah I take either one to work. Depending on what I have to take / what mood I'm in. And don't do more than 60km's a day.
It's threw Lumley General Insurance. Went threw a local broker.

lucky! turn 25 maybe?

Its rated on what they are used for and the location basically so if you are a courier in auckland you will pay through the nose where as a mobile mechanic in rotorua may be fairly cheap etc

Quite often people have the misconception that commercial cover is much dearer where as its often not the case at all.

Age might have something to do with that, being under 25 doesn't help! And people's history to.
