most serious drag cars seem to use autos, not quite the same as the slush boxes in corollas.

that being said 650hp and three tons of audio hardly screams drag weapon does it

Yes, I was right.

Nothing wrong with auto's. Aristo is good with an auto. I'd say a manual would be hard work with a car like that.

In general larger cars seem to suit Auto's better.

I hate Auto's in anything sub 2L. Even at the 2L level it can be annoying waiting for kickdown to happen...

autos are only good for drag racing really which is probably where the car is aimed at so u can program the auto so the shifts are consistent i guess

Disagree. Auto's can be - and are - suitable for general purpose driving in many instances. In larger vehicles.

Yep.
I would hate it if my Aristo was manual. Auto makes it a damn nice car to drive.
Big car, shit loads of torque and a good auto box to boot.

I find toyota auto's to be some of the smoothest out've the cars I get to drive at work, holden/ford ones are horrid!

Don't think a manual celsior appeals at all really either, what would be the point other than the epic noise on down changes 8O

I have read that it's due to toyotas have seperate ECU for auto transmission, so it sends a signal back to the engine's ECU to drop power when there's a gear transition, while other car makers opt to have the engine ECU to control both the auto gearbox and the engine.

And I guess that's the same reason why PowerFC's are not available for cars eqiupped with auto, except for toyotas.
