Would never work, it'd only punish everyone else. Registrations, WOF's and drivers licences are also compulsary...doesnt stop people driving without em.

Yes but it would without doubt reduce the number of kids in high performance vehicles... surely you cannot disagree with that?Dell'Orto wrote:Would never work, it'd only punish everyone else. Registrations, WOF's and drivers licences are also compulsary...doesnt stop people driving without em.

Correct, find a uk insurance website and do an online quote. Integra Type R, don't expect much change from 3k POUNDS a year.

Silly idea, it is not up to fuel station staff to play cops. Opens huge can of worms.

Main focus should be on driver education. As in how to acutally bloody drive.

Why? Kids go to school everyday, but it doesn't mean they will lead an educated life. Education will not curb the minority labeled as "boyracers". From what I understand and have experienced with young people; it's peer pressure, a want to fit in and a sense of respect that fuels a stereotypical "boyracer".
I agree driver education will be a positive thing, but I don't think it should be the main focus. If you teach people how to drive, there will be many that will want to push the boundaries. IE: Now I know how to control my car based on what I've learned by someone "qualified" to teach me that, I can drive faster, harder as I'm a "qualified boyracer".

If they were to limit what could be bought relative to age, it would be easier to police with a blanket rule rather than on a case by case basis.
Compulsory 3rd party insurance would do this id say.
