cars with single window wipers

i'm needing to know which cars run single window wipers that wipe the whole screen.... i know there are some out there...

i'm wanting to modify my wiper on the starlet. Currently centre mounted but as its standard motor it only wipes drivers side of the screen. Need to change it to something like the second car in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqujKzDrgwY So wondering if i can just use a motor off a road car that has a similar setup. Are there any out there that wipe the whole screen with 1 wiper???

It's not to do with the motor, rather the lever on the linkages.
You could possibly modify the exsisting one to do it, make it longer.
But why? It will be less effective. That said if you put a faster motor on it you may regain some of the loss in performance

Pretty much any out of a hatch will work, used starlet/civic ones before depending on the available room to mount one

hmm true ok cheers guys. id rather have the standard 2 wipers, but seeing as the previous owner decided to go to trouble of welding up the old holes etc it becomes more of a nightmare.

its only cos co driver moans she cant see out the window in the rain! pffttt.... just shut up and read the notes woman

I use the rear one in the front and use one wiper, only thing is you only have one speed.

Video off it working,I used a smaller wiper blade so you could get more coverage with a standard blade, still i think ya co driver still won't be happy

or lengthening the arm on the motor will also work

Just move it on the gear and then bolt it back down. I assume you're using the middle spline and it's in the standard position? Undo the bolt, rotate it up so it's sitting slightly on the passengers side and bolt it back up. If it hits something, repeat the process until it's clear.

I did it to my starlet before taking it for a play at Manfeild and daily drove it like that until it went up for sale. It works fine and you don't notice the wiper on the screen. The best part is that it's free.

ive got it mounted dead centre/vertical at the moment. i'll try rotating it slighty as per yours, as long it it clears enough of my side tho. like the guys above say, if i shorten/lengthen the arm i might be able to get it to sweep the whole screen = win.
