Anyone got one of these i can borrow, my mums car's drums are rusted on nicely

What kind of vehicle is it?
There is often/usually a couple of threaded holes between the wheel studs which you can wind an m8 bolt into, which will bottom out on the hub, pressing the drums off.

Firstly tho, spray some crc around the centre spigot, and into the stud holes, wait 5 mins and then give the front of the drum a good whack with a hammer - they should jump off!

And make sure the handbrake is off!

Yeah bolts is the easiest way. Will get really tight, then *click* and you're done

Running some emery tape around the spigot if there is room will also help. get rid of any rust/scale etc

helps if the shoes are adjusted right off as well, old drums can develop a lip on the inside so they will turn freely, but still catch on the shoes when ya try and pull them off

and on some cars the drum and hub are one and the same!

Get a bigger hammer.

I had some stubborn ones the other day.... and I hit them pretty hard No dice, had to hunt around for some bolts, then cursed at how easy it was compared to the bashing

i dunno.. when it comes to drums you cant beat the ol' tappidy tap. it loosens all the rust around the spigot, also loosens all the brake dust sitting on the shoes which actually grips the drum when you are trying to put it off.

i have seen people use the bolt procedure and they have destroyed springs/retainers. if tapping it doesnt get it off, then de-adjusting the shoes is the next option and another tap.
