Been asked loads of times.

Not a straight forward swap. Would need custom mounts for a start.

Would cost a sh!t load of cash!!!!

Also should probably be in the tech section

I don't want to discourage you but for the amount you will spend doing it you would be better off forging the 4age and turboing that, it has been proven time and again here that they can easily produce in excess of 400hp atw.

Ive seen an AE82 Hatch with a 3sgte front drive.
Seemed interesting, but it made 220kw at the wheels.
You can achieve the same power from a turbo 4a so probably not worth it.

For ~$8000 there is/was an EE90 that had been converted to full 4wd with ST205 motor. I'd say you'd spend that much just to make one FWD/useless

Well 220kW at FWD from 3SGTE is relatively easy to achieve. It would probably handle it all day long, on other hand the 4AGTE will be a hand grenade with that sort of power unless you spend twice as much as 3SGTE conversion will cost.

Kw for Kw I would say a 3SGTE is much more of a hand grenade than a 4AGTE at the same hp.

220kw from a 4agte is not even a push.

Find a diesel corolla... Block bolt pattern same as 3sgte
Grab gearbox, mounts, driveshafts etc.
Only mount you would need to make is the one for the pulley end of the engine.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Be interested in seeing that. I was making 210kw on stock fuel, stock ECU, stockish turbo (different compressor wheel), stock ignition on a 200,000km/20 year old 3SGTE and I beat on it all the time as well as used it as my daily...

Gonna have a hard time convincing me that it's cheaper to get a ~100kw engine to 220kw than it is to do the same to a 160-180kw engine.
Gonna have an even harder time convincing me that the one that started out with less power and no turbo is under less strain making that power than the one that had more power and a turbo from factory.

As for getting it in an AE chassis - why would it be any harder than putting it in an AW? Hasn't that been done multiple times now? It's effectively the same swap...

done it in an ae92 , not as hard as people are making out , using mr2 lsd box out of sw is going to be the hardest bit of it trying to find one for decent money , and besides 3s is pretty good engine if you look after them , do what you wana do mate , some people on here are scared of the unknown 8)
Mounts i had a couple custom made as its in my race car , i have a solid one on cam belt side but you could get them made up easy enough , something that you could get evil si to do for you and hes out your way .

Another option for gearbox is E series out of SS3 (ST202) Celica (superstrut - it comes with LSD).
