Postby crispy'86 » Wed Nov 10, 2010 6:53 am

Hey all i'm currently doing some repairs ot a friends ae92 trueno, it failed it's wof on the rear lower hub bushes (the front lateral arm bush in the lower part of the hub) Anyone been successful in obtaining the replacement bush?? I tried SAS and have only had luck getting one bush, this is a swivel type bush. Anyone had this before, had ready access to numerous supply of these, and replaced them without drama?? Kinda need to know asap who has what and how easily i can get my hands on some. Need my driveway back 8)

I don't know about the original rubber mounts but you can get urethane replacements from superpro - have a look at the European site they have an online catalogue, I think the part you need is SPF0825K. There are distributors in NZ.

I priced some superpro up through stocks chch, not cheap because they came as a full kit to do all lateral arms. i just got a second hand arm from a wrecker $25

This is in the actual hub itself. Pretty much have to press them out with a hydraulic press and press other ones in. I've been sorted with just one aftermarket bush that fits the sizes i need for the hub. Others which are bit longer in the body. Hopefully i can get one that fits. HAd couple different options aftermarket from Nolathane but they are slightly longer in the outer tubing

There is definitely a super pro bushing that replaces the one in the hub - I remember pushing that bugger out with a clamp and a socket.
It will probably be part of one of the arm kits so you'd have to buy the whole lot.

Doesn't toyota sell these any more?

Last i tried was when my own ae92 was on the road and had to buy the whole hub, not cheap.
Super pro bushings eh?/ I ended up getting a specific bush that fits nicely and gets rid of the swivel bush which is the factory type. Possibly cheaper than a super pro bush kit but until i figure out how much that is i can't really sy too much more. Cost effective way to get rid of any lateral play in the hub that's for sure 8)

Might try ringin tomorrow and see what pricing is like

Which one of these is it?

The dark/covered in dust bushes are the superpro arm sets. The yellow ones I guess are whiteline bushes, but superpro make these too, it'll be the trailing arm bush set.

Pretty much the two bushes, the one under the strut to hub mounting, by the trailing arm is the most common to show up excessive movement, which i've found is really common for failing. (Having excessive movement laterally). The rear one also gives a bit of movement in the hub too. Pays to replace them both to be on the safe side. Tht's what i did
