Postby dnalunchie » Mon Jan 03, 2011 12:22 pm

Just thought I would share with you guys that in the latest "Motor" magazine they managed to get a 100% factory 911 Turbo S to run a 10.8 400m.

I thinks thats pretty staggering really.

Don't 20V's do that from the factory?

ah! but 20V's have a special feature where they burn so much oil it covers the strip in a slippery thing film of oil - no no other car can make a faster pass!

Actually they routinely ran 10.3's off the trailer. An interesting comparison, but a bit flawed.. the Super Stock cars had lightened bumpers, thinner glass, no radio, no heater, no sound insulation, open headers etc etc. Not exactly every day sorts of cars! In fact they were sold with no warranty and labeled as 'Not for road use'

Another car in the 10s in stock form is a Corvette ZR1, I know they have run 10.8's on original run flat tires even.
