BOV not working

Postby bluemaumau » Wed Feb 23, 2011 10:18 am

Trust type R BOV

the bov has never worked, even up to 20psi

it has two ports

the bottom one is left open
the top has vaccum from the inlet manifold (direct, no t's)

will get a pic up soon.

i can press the valve with my thumb so its not seized.

i brought this brand new ~3years ago.

get a vacuum pump attach it to where you currently have vacuum hose attached, pply vacuum and see if it opens, if it doesn't try it on the other hose nipple. Is it an adjustable BOV? try adjusting it so it requires less force to open. Is you vacuum source definitly after the throttle body?

used to testing vacuum advance units on distributors, most garage/workshop should have one.
