Diff knowledge......

Postby strx7 » Sat May 14, 2011 9:18 pm

Does anyone know of any vehicles which come with a long nose IRS type rear diff, like early nissans, subarus, S4/5 rx7 etc. I need something in thr 4.6-5:1 type reigon. I have seen a nissan 4.875:1 R180 sized diff on trade me, but would prefer a R200/8 inch crown wheel as i dont think a r180/F series will handle 400+hp thru it for very long.

Can anyone think of anything that fits this description???

Not the Z31's no, but the Z32's are fairly tall...going by speeds more than actual ratio counting anyway

i'd imagine Z32's would be in the mid to high 3's, similar to supras

forgot about the long nose bit.

seeing as hitachi make the R and H nissan/subaru diffs, can the innards of an r200 be swapped out for the innards of the H190/Toyota G? may need a to make a new pinion shaft though?? the H165 head fit the T series axles/housing,so maybe the R200 and G will work?
series 4/5 rx7 have been used enough in competition for there to be low ratio rally gearing for them.
give someone like Charlie Evans a ring
