I was pondering the thought of putting a k20a in my fielder wagon, if i had the money.

hmmmmm i actually know of a front cut of a late model corolla with a 2zzge and a mate has a blitz supercharger kit for one as well....

so putting one into an ae101 would use the stock gearbox and gearbox mounts? would just need one engine mount fabricated??

is that right?

from all of what i can find on the net and what everyone here is saying yea you just have to make the one mount and mod the x-member. just remembered the mrs corolla have a 1zz in it so might see how close the mounting will be and measure a few things, i geuss they use the same mounts (the 2zz and 1zz)

1zz wouldnt be worth the swap from 4age, 2zz is the one you want

no i wouldnt bother doing a 1zz just thought they may have had the same mounts as 2zz so i could have parked the cars next to each other and done some measuring.

The 2ZZ is a hell peaky engine, so you'd definitely want to be running the box normally mated to that engine. If you mated it to a 4AGE gearbox, I suspect the gear ratio's would be painful.

Lets face it the factory 4AGE gear ratios suck enough as it is

First - Second - third [engine falls off song] ... wait wait wait wait ... are there we are, back on cam again!

That's what it feels like in my club car anyway :-)

I've driven a 2ZZ corolla. Nice to drive but as you say, very peaky. Not like my SW20 where it has lots of torque down low. This would be a cool swap though.

c52? my c56 has perfect ratios up to 4th gear for a blacktop.

but agreed you would want to run the 6 speed box as well ideally. and a cam controller to make the lift come in earlier!
