spark problem?

Postby TRD_ZERO » Sat Jun 11, 2011 12:43 pm

So i did some tuning for about an hour and a half and lost spark. Just wasnt getting any spark so i loaned a igniter and coil and have spark now but its red/orange. Isnt it supposed to be a blue spark? It doesnt want to idle now. Ideas?

Yeah ok. Im running a link g3 in a ae111 20v turbo. I had it running and was getting it tuned but then suddenly wouldnt start after tuning for an hour and a half. Found there was no spark coming from the coil. Recharged the battery the next day as it had gone flat. Thought that might be contributing to the problem. Once i put the battery in and checked for spark and was getting spark but it was a red/orange. Thought that was weird as the spark is usually blue/white. The tuner thinks its the igniter and coil. So borrowed a coil and igniter, swaped it over and was still getting a red spark. Tried to start the car and it just wont idle. So i think im still having problems with my spark. Any ideas?

It doesn't matter what colour the spark is, so long as there's a spark.
The colour will change with contaminants on the plug.
Probably your ECU got spiked and corrupted the memory.

What was the last thing you did before the ignition issue?
