Passenger Window

Postby Anton » Tue Jul 12, 2011 9:05 am

Hi. The passenger window of my Celica does not want to go down. When I press the open button, nothing happens, not even a whirring sound of the window's motor making an effort. The driver's window works fine. Can any fellow member direct me to a good place where this can be fixed. I think this will involved removing the inner door panel so would prefer a place where they do a careful job. I live in Panmure so some place near would be great, otherwise I wouldn't mind going further for a good job done. Cheers to all. Anton

pull the trim off, put power directly to the regulator motor to make sure it works, if it doesn't the regulator/motor is buggered, if it works, the problem is either in the LH door switch or in the RH switch

Hi Mr. Phreak. There is no window lock switch. There are only three buttons in the center panel. The left and right ones to operate the windows and the center one to lock/unlock the doors. Cheers.

Mine came of the pulley once, worked only half way for a bit until it stopped.
Couldnt hear the motor or anything, once I pulled the door card off, it was clear it had jumped the pulley and got jammed.
Motor still worked ok.

Speaking of this, the drivers one in the ceres the wire seems to keep coming of the bottom pulley.
I've replaced the whole assembly but its fallen of the new assembly aswell.

So do you guys think any mechanic can do this, or do I have to bring to a specialized shop?
