Caldina Knock sensor

Postby speedracer07 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:46 pm

hey guys, got a quick question to ask. The Toyota part number for the caldina knock sensor is 89615-12080, does anyone know of any other knock sensor's I could use? specifically can I use 89615-20090 which seems to be in quite a few newer toyota's.

To fill in the blanks I've damaged my knock sensor and now have the dreaded code 52 (completely my fault... was messing with the boost controller at the drag strip in direct violation of my mechanic's strict order to leave it alone and overboosted to 21.5 psi as per the alarm setting in my boost controller)

thanks in advance!!

so does that mean that the issue is just if it bolts up or not?

i think that some toyota knock sensors have a bit of a loom and then the plug, the ones i have swapped have all been plug directly on sensor type. at the end of the day they all detect that exact same thing, its not as if different engines have different knock frequency or anything like that. if the shoe fits wear it.

there's 2 main types. The only difference being the plug. However if you get the one with the wrong plug then for the love of $&#$% don't try solder a new plug on. You will never get it to work right. just find the right one. I think from memory one has an orange oring and the other doesn't. But i could be wrong. I have a minter of an ST205 that i can sell you if it fits.
