Altezza RS200 Issues

Postby Demon » Sat Aug 20, 2011 7:46 pm

Hey guys
Im having a few issues with my partners RS200.

Changed the fuel filter in the tank today and now the fuel gauge has stopped working. Was working fine but stopped a few mins ago while driving. Fuel light came on then about 10 secs later the gauge was reading empty.
Any suggestions for a fix? Ill pull the pump out again tomorrow and see if its jammed or anything

Also its hesitating alot (was happening before the filter change) feels like it wants to pull but just wont. Thought the filter was blocked hence the change of fuel filter. It has gotten better but sometimes its just not keen to rev.
Ill try new plugs and cleaning out the AFM with some Contact Cleaner tomorrow but any suggestions on possible fixes would be great!

TIA

I don't know how the filter set up is on one of these but if it's part of the fuel pump assembly, and you had to pull it out, then you will probably find that the entire pump/filter assembly isn't lined up correctly in the tank and the float is jamming on part of the tank.

Make sure you put it in the same way you took it out.

Fuel level float and arm will be fouling on the pipe it draws fuel through from the right hand tank. Takes a wee bit of fiddling around to get it sitting right.

hesitating?
Standard airflter or aftermarket?
Many 3sge altezza problems have been caused by aftermarket air filter causing problems - they seem to upset the air flow to the AFM

Good luck

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Aftermarket. HKS intake pipe and filter. Made a big difference in power and responce. Has been on the car for a while and didnt cause any issues when it was installed

Thanks for all your input, turns out the AFM was $&#$%. Adjusted the float in the tank and the fuel gauge reads properly and just installed a new AFM.
The altezza runs sooo much smoother now and pulls like a school boy!
