Well the car is a 1995 Nissan Pulsar Hatch, and on saturday I was putting a new headunit in. My partner came and took a look and as she does, closes the passenger door with the brute force I tell her not to with all the time.
The passenger window went back inside the door (at sort of the speed you would expect when it goes down normally). And wouldnt go back up.
I could hear stuff working but the window not moving. I pulled the door panel off and had a look. I can see it has one central cable going up and down that presumably lifts and pulls the window, but that was moving without the window and not too smoothly either, sort of like it was binding somwhere (no idea what the inside of the motor is like, but also not sure how this would cause the motor to crap out). There is a small gear at the top that the cable loops over and it appeared to have come off that, I presumed as there was no tension on the cable anymore from the window.
Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be here? It sounds like due to the loss of tension the motor has probably coiled up on itself inside or something, but not sure how the cable can move without the window....
Thanks!
