Big 3sgte service. What to do.

Postby Al » Tue Nov 08, 2011 10:49 pm

Right, next weekend, if I play my cards right I'll be dropping the mr2 engine out for its 2nd big service.

I have a new entire gasket/seal kit, although I probably won't use most of it.
TGP cambelt, waterpump, fuel filter, idlers, tensioners, ac belt, alt belt.

I have a ct20b to go on, with my Berk downpipe as well and I have an enormous K&N filter that I picked up for a song that I will place in the passenger vent.

Is there anything else I should change while the engine is on the ground?

change the entire engine to a Gen 3.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Prob do that next project. I'll just get this running better first and tidy it up.

That half cut on Trade Me is tempting, just need a tidier shell to drop it all into.

Cool just emailed away for pricing on HFH and HFHOE. Clutch change is ez mode, will see how the stocker holds up, seems quite strong at the moment from my launching practices 8) So can change later.

Unlikely, you don't usually get them as part of a TGP engine gasket set, and probably same deal for non-genuine

Yup since they can be done with the crank in place it could be a winner. Will go TGP.
