Postby Undertow » Sun Aug 04, 2002 11:28 pm

Okayday, 4AGZE or 4AGTE? I'm gonna end up with either of these in my AE86, so what's the call, boy and girls?

What exactly do you intend on using your car for?
For drag racing I'd say turbo
For drifting I'd say supercharged

Well, there's no actually legal drift tracks in NZ :x So it's looks like the drags are the best thing although circuit racing is something i wanna be able to do in it. I.e in mid cornering suddenly hit boost and spin out

Can't go past the 4agte setup. I didn't!!

Just depends on turbo choice what sort of boost characteristics you want. Ie mild setup with even power distribution or monty setup with all or nothing power. :D

"One who is supercharged, shall live as a purpose to transport fat chicks uphills with ease and be able to associate with prehistoric minded V8 drag racers."
"He who is chosen to turbocharge, shall live the life of skinny wenches and quick time slips" roughly translated "shall live like a pimp

8O I don't think superchargers are THAT bad! i mean, my brother's ol' GTZ Trueno pulled strong from any rpm whereas with some turbos there just no juju until about 4000rpm. Gotta love turbo lag

Ask EVLGTZ about turbo vs Supercharger. His car is now turbo and he will no doubt be able to give you all the pro's and cons of both.

aye ? superchargers rule? how did ya work that out?

ok instantaneous boost is great but dam theres not a lot of boost and wheres the top end power?

Sure u can do the pulley kit but 14psi is about all ya got.

But with a turbo.....wow just dial up some boost and wahlaa, or if ya want some more boost then wind her up some more. And whats more you got that power all the way to redline.

7psi on the s/c vs 7 psi turbo in my car was anoticeable difference. So noticeable that the gains i felt with turbo at 7psi were enuff to convince me of the better option. Nowwith 12psi...haha watch out!

Just my 2psi eorth

Cheers
