broke the clockspring in my chaser...where to get a new one?

Postby Tha_INS » Thu Jan 19, 2012 4:40 pm

replaced the bus steering wheel in my chaser with an altezza 3 spoke one. failed to read instructions about re assembly written on the clock spring itself. After re assembling i couldnt get full, lock turning left so I forced it and felt something snap.

Searching the web i found out that i probably broken the ribbon cable inside the clockspring.

Know where to get one? Anyone ever fixed one?

Not repairable and probably $500 + from toyota.

We have done heaps at work on toyota's, but not a chaser specifically.

Maybe try wreckers for a S/H one?

Try the sponsors section on here. Unless that was a good deal from Toyota.

Use toyodiy
find the part number for it,
then reverse search by part number for all the cars it fits.

turns out the kzn185 one is a slightly diff part number (1 digit) off. But it still works all the connectors are in the same location. Thanks toyspeed, I love toyotas so much interchangeability
