Alot of cars will have similar styles this year, due to the regulation change about nose height to avoid cars launching over rear wheels.

The Ferrari has an equally ugly nose this year too

Well the new Ferrari, and Force India, are just as ugly as the Caterham :(

Here is a link to a clip with Gary Anderson giving his opinion on the new McLaren...

Another platypus nose from LRGP

Not long to go until they all hit the track for testing at Jerez, and again, not long until we can see the new Newey creation.

Interesting how they all taper off at the rear now.

3 more platypus nosed cars launched overnight.

McLaren will definitely be standing out as one of, if not the only, "traditional" looking cars this season. It remains to be seen what Mercedes will come out with though.

The new Redbull has a very interesting air inlet at the front, cant wait for the first of the test sessions to start later tonight to see everyone on track, and to get a proper look at the actual new front and rear wings, new diffusers and actual exhaust exits, now that they cant hide them under plastic covers like they do at the launches.

I've missed something. What is making them all to for the ugly noses. And the steps?

The new regulations have built a theoretical "no go" box in the area above the nose, in order to try and minimise the chance of the nose impacting a drivers head in a t-bone accident.

Clearly, only McLaren(so far) feel the can benefit from a low slung chassis, whereas all the other teams still want to utilise the proven benefits of a higher chassis.

Loving the testing so far...

Looking at Ferrari and McLarens various exhaust positioning tests tells me Mr Whiting is going to have to have words with them soon.

Some of the diffusers look very similar so far, but expecting to see a few different layouts before the start of the season.

Schu fastest in yesterdays test, followed by the RB of Webber and again in third, the STR of Ricciardo.

Gotta say the new F-1 designs outside of Mclaren are ugly as sin.

Good to hear Raikkonen was looking racey in the last testing session they had.

Lotus have had to cancel the entire weeks testing at catalunya as they have found an issue with their new chassis, so have gone back to the factory to repair it and alter the subsequent chassis' being built.

Vettel was fastest on day 1, with hulkenberg, hamilton and schu following.

Looking forward to following day 2 of the test later tonight :)
