I have a steal shield alarm in the Corolla. It has the most annoying auto arming feature. How do I turn it off? I have no idea what model it is and have no manual or anything. Are these things essentially all the same?
I dont think you can turn it off, its part of the ratings requirement
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting 1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons 2018 Ranger - Because workcar 1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time OMG so shiny!
They get heaps quieter when the new owner drives them away though

It is called an anti hot-wire alarm and sadly it can't be turned off. Mongoose (and some others) have the same thing too and I full agree that it is an annoying pointless "feature"
The fact that the car does not start should be a big enough hint, sadly the alarm manufactures want to make their crap alarms cry wolf and make you feel like an idiot!
Sorry I can't offer a solution other then remove or replace the system.
Unless hes replacing it with another alarm I just thought that might be an option. Better to keep some security if it still keeps the immobilisers etc. I guess it would come down to OCD levels
I was thinking of getting GPS tracker with prepaid sim. The Corolla is a car I would rather get back in hopefully one piece than have an insurance pay out for because I can't just buy another one...
